NOTES:
ORIGIN: Found in 2013 in Costa Rica at the University of Georgia Research Station at San Luis near Monteverde.

DESCRIPTION: Same form also growing east of continental divide in the Rio PeƱas Blancas watershed. Plant grows to 3 meters tall with glabrous vegetative parts, short, bilobed ligule under 1 cm long. The bracts are green, non-appendaged and the flowers are bright red, open labellum type. May be a new and undescribed species.
